Varanasi: The Customs (Preventive) Division in Varanasi will conduct an e-auction of seized vehicles later this month through the MSTC portal. The online auction is scheduled to take place on March 20, 2026, offering several vehicles including cars and a container truck for sale on an “as is where is” basis.
According to the auction catalogue, interested bidders will be allowed to inspect the vehicles between March 12 and March 19, 2026 at the Customs Preventive Division premises located at 9 Maqbool Alam Road, opposite DIG Colony, Varanasi.
The e-auction will begin at 12 noon on March 20 and conclude at 4 pm the same day, with an auto-extension of 8 minutes applicable if bids are received near the closing time.
NOTICE
The catalogue includes four lots of vehicles that were seized and are now being auctioned:
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (KA-48-N-0067) – 1 unit
Ford EcoSport (MP-20-CJ-7567) – 1 unit
Suzuki XL6 (JH-10CS-2340) – 1 unit
Tata container truck (UP-78-DN-8204) – 1 unit
Each lot will be auctioned individually, with bidding starting at Re 1 and a minimum bid increment of Re 1.
The vehicles will be sold on an “as is where is, as is what is, and no-complaint” basis, meaning buyers must inspect the vehicles and verify their condition before bidding.
Successful bidders will need to deposit a post-bid earnest money deposit (EMD) of 25% of the final bid value within the stipulated time after acceptance of the bid. The remaining payment must be completed within eight days, failing which penalties may apply.
After full payment, buyers must take delivery of the vehicles within seven days of the delivery order. Delays in lifting the vehicles may attract ground rent charges at 1% per week plus applicable GST.
The vehicles are currently stored at the Customs Preventive Division godown in Varanasi, from where successful bidders will have to arrange transportation.
Officials said the auction is part of routine disposal of seized or confiscated assets and will be conducted online through MSTC’s e-auction platform.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police is set to conduct an online auction of departmental vehicles and miscellaneous items through the government e-auction platform of MSTC Limited. The auction will be organised by the SP Logistics wing of the Police Headquarters in Lucknow.
According to the official catalogue, the e-auction (No. MSTC/LKO/SP Logistics UP Police Headquarters/100/Lucknow/25-26/64938) will take place on March 12, 2026, between 11:30 am and 3:30 pm.
Interested bidders can inspect the vehicles and materials between March 3 and March 11, 2026, at various police line locations across Uttar Pradesh. Authorities have advised bidders to physically inspect the vehicles to verify their condition, documents and other details before placing bids.
The auction will follow the standard “as is where is”, “as is what is” and “no complaint” basis, meaning buyers must accept the condition of the items at the time of sale.

The auction will be conducted under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) of GST, meaning only bidders with a valid GST number updated in their MSTC profile can participate.
Under RCM rules, buyers will be responsible for depositing applicable GST directly with the tax authorities.
Once the payment is completed, MSTC will issue a digitally signed Delivery Order, allowing the buyer to collect the vehicle from the specified location. Buyers must take delivery within 30 days of the delivery order.

Buyers will have to transfer the vehicle registration (RC) in their name at their own expense.
The police department and MSTC will not entertain complaints regarding vehicle condition after the auction.

The auction system includes an automatic extension feature of eight minutes. If a new bid is placed near the closing time, the auction window for that lot will extend automatically to ensure fair participation.
