Rohtas, Bihar: The Rohtas district administration and Prohibition & Excise Department have announced an auction of 45 seized and confiscated vehicles from various police cases and excise cases in the district. The vehicles will be sold through an open auction on an “as is, where is, whatever is” basis at the Sasaram Sub-Divisional Office under the supervision of a committee constituted by the District Magistrate, Rohtas.
The auction notice has been issued under Section 58 of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016 . The first round of the Rohtas vehicle auction 2026 is scheduled for October 14, 2026 , with subsequent auction dates on October 21, October 28, November 4 and November 11, 2026.

The notice lists vehicles numbered 1 to 45 for auction at the Sasaram subdivision office. If an auction day is declared a holiday, the auction will be conducted on the next working day.
Rohtas Vehicle Auction Notice
The auction inventory includes motorcycles, scooters, e-rickshaws, tractors, pickup vehicles, cars and other vehicles . Several popular two-wheelers, including Hero Splendor, Hero Splendor Plus, Hero Passion Pro, Honda Shine, Honda Dream Yuga, Bajaj Platina and Discover motorcycles, are included in the list.

The auction table provides the applicable initial auction value and advance/EMD amounts for individual vehicles. For example, the Hero Splendor listed at ₹10,229 has an advance amount of ₹5,114, while the Mahindra 265 DI tractor has an initial value of ₹68,352 and an advance amount of ₹34,176.
The notice also provides reduced values for subsequent auctions. In cases where vehicles remain unsold, the auction value will be reduced by 10% after the specified auction rounds until the vehicle is sold. The district website will carry information on the applicable auction amount for each round.

According to the notice, after three auctions, vehicles that remain unsold will be offered at a price 10% lower than the prescribed auction value in subsequent rounds. This process will continue until the vehicle is sold.
People interested in buying a vehicle must submit the advance/EMD amount shown against the respective vehicle , along with the required documents.
The EMD must be deposited at the Sasaram Sub-Divisional Office during office hours on any working day, no later than 5 pm two days before the relevant auction date . Payment can be made through cash, bank draft or banker's cheque . The bank draft or banker's cheque must be issued by a nationalised bank and made payable to the Sub-Divisional Officer, Sasaram .
For a successful bidder, the deposited advance amount will be adjusted against the auction amount . The advance deposited by unsuccessful applicants will be returned after the auction.
The successful bidder must deposit the highest bid amount offline through BTC Form-4 . If the successful bidder fails to make the required payment, the deposited advance can be forfeited and the vehicle may be auctioned again.
The notice also states that a bidder who participates, places the highest bid and subsequently refuses to take the vehicle may have the deposited amount forfeited and may be blacklisted .

The successful buyer will receive an authorisation certificate for registration of the vehicle. However, the responsibility for preparing vehicle-related documents rests with the buyer. The committee is not obligated to provide previously registered vehicle documents, and the vehicles will be auctioned free from applicable encumbrances as specified in the notice.
The successful purchaser will also have to pay all applicable taxes and other statutory dues.
The buyer must take the vehicle away within one week from the date of issue of the vehicle release order . If the vehicle is subsequently put up for auction again because it was not removed within the stipulated period, the buyer's claim will not be entertained.
The notice provides an opportunity for the concerned vehicle owner to submit an objection. A vehicle owner associated with a Sasaram vehicle case can submit an objection at the office of the Assistant Commissioner, Prohibition & Excise , or the concerned subdivision office up to one day before the auction .
The auction committee also reserves the right to cancel the auction process fully or partially . If a vehicle becomes subject to court proceedings, applications for that vehicle will not be accepted and its auction will remain suspended.
