Officials said the reserve price for each vehicle has been fixed at approximately 80% of the assessed valuation. Bidders will have to deposit the prescribed earnest money deposit (EMD) before participating in the auction process.
“All vehicles will be auctioned on an ‘as is, where is’ basis. The successful bidder will have to complete the payment within the stipulated time frame as per rules,” an official from the excise department said.
The vehicles were seized in various cases registered under the state’s prohibition law and subsequently confiscated following legal proceedings. Bihar has enforced total prohibition since April 2016, and vehicles used in illegal transportation or storage of liquor are liable for confiscation under the Act.
Interested bidders can inspect the vehicles on February 28 at the designated location mentioned in the notice. The district administration has clarified that it reserves the right to cancel or modify the auction without assigning any reason.
Further details, including case numbers, engine and chassis details, and confiscation orders, are available on the official district website.
The auction is part of the state government’s ongoing effort to dispose of confiscated assets and reduce storage burden at police stations and excise yards.
