Hyderabad Police to Auction Nearly 1,000 Abandoned Vehicles on Dec 3

Hyderabad, Dec 1: The Hyderabad City Police will conduct an e-auction of abandoned, unclaimed and confiscated vehicles on December 3 through the MSTC bidding platform.

A total of 995 vehicles — including motorcycles, auto-rickshaws and four-wheelers — will go under the auction. The auction will begin at 10 am and conclude at 2 pm the same day, officials said.

As per the auction catalogue, 946 two-wheelers make up the largest lot, while 35 auto-rickshaws and 14 cars have also been listed. All vehicles are currently lying at the City Armed Reserve Police Headquarters grounds in Amberpet.

Catalogue viewing began on November 12, and physical inspection of the lots is allowed till December 2 at the designated storage location. Participation is open to GST-registered bidders only, and all lots will be sold on an “OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION” and “no-complaint” basis.

Officials clarified that the start price for each lot is ₹1, with incremental bidding from that point onward. Pre-bid Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) has been fixed at ₹6 lakh for the two-wheeler lot, ₹50,000 for auto-rickshaws and ₹70,000 for the cars lot. Payment timelines range from four to seven days after acceptance of the bid, while buyers must lift the material within 15 days of the delivery order.

Late payments and delayed lifting will attract penalties, including ground rent. EMD may also be forfeited in case of non-compliance with terms and conditions.

The police have urged interested participants to review the online catalogue and inspect vehicles before bidding. MSTC officials and helpdesk contacts have been provided for technical support.
