Ara:
The Bhojpur district administration will conduct a public auction of 35 seized vehicles and earth-moving machines, including trucks and Poklane excavators, on February 28, 2026, in Ara. The auction pertains to vehicles confiscated in cases of illegal mining, transportation and storage of minerals across various police station areas of Bhojpur district.
The auction will be held at 11 am at the auditorium of the Bhojpur Collectorate on a “as is where is and as is what is” basis, officials said.
The auction is being organised by the Collector-cum-District Magistrate, Bhojpur, under the provisions of the Bihar Minor Mineral (Concession, Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage Prevention) Rules, 2019, as amended in 2024. All the listed vehicles and machines have been legally confiscated by the district administration following due procedure.
OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION
Interested bidders must submit their applications along with the required documents and Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) on February 24, 2026, between 10 am and 5 pm at the Office of the District Magistrate, Bhojpur (Ara).

Aadhaar Card
GST Registration Certificate
Character Certificate
Affidavit declaring no pending mining dues
Bank Draft in favour of “Mineral Development Officer, Bhojpur (Ara)”
Payable at Ara, Bhojpur
Applications and documents will be verified by the District Purchase Committee on February 26 and 27, 2026.
A total of 35 seized assets will go under the hammer, including:
Trucks (6-wheeler, 10-wheeler, 12-wheeler and 14-wheeler)
Poklane / Excavators (Hyundai, JCB, L&T Komatsu, CAT)
These vehicles were seized from police station areas including Sandesh, Koilwar, Badhara, Narayanpur, Piro, Imadpur, Udwantnagar (Gajrajganj) and others, for involvement in illegal sand mining and mineral transportation.
Some vehicles are categorized as scrap, and bidders are advised to inspect the vehicles physically before participating.
The reserve values of vehicles range from ₹71,000 to over ₹12.6 lakh, while EMD amounts range from approximately ₹17,750 to ₹3.15 lakh, depending on the vehicle category.
Successful bidders must deposit the full auction amount within three working days of the auction (after adjusting EMD).
Failure to pay the balance amount within the stipulated period will lead to forfeiture of EMD.
EMD of unsuccessful bidders will be refunded within three working days after completion of the auction.
Only a sale confirmation letter will be issued; preparation of registration documents is the buyer’s responsibility.
Vehicles will be auctioned along with minerals loaded, if any.
Buyers must pay all applicable taxes, registration charges and transport fees.
Vehicles listed as scrap or non-registerable will be purchased entirely at the buyer’s risk.
The auction committee reserves the right to cancel the auction of any or all vehicles without assigning any reason.
Vehicles involved in cases stayed by courts will be excluded from the auction.
The administration has advised all bidders to physically inspect the vehicles at their respective parking locations before submitting applications. No objections or claims will be entertained after the auction process is completed.

If any vehicle owner has objections or court-related claims, they must submit documentary proof in person at the Collectorate or District Mining Office, Bhojpur, by 5 pm on February 24, 2026. Claims made after this deadline will not be considered. The auction will remain subject to any subsequent orders passed by the Hon’ble Court.
The auction forms part of Bhojpur administration’s ongoing crackdown on illegal sand mining in Bihar, which has caused significant revenue loss and environmental damage. Officials said the initiative aims to deter illegal mining operations, recover government dues, and strengthen enforcement of mining laws.
