Banka: The Prohibition Department of Banka district has issued a short-term public notice for the auction of confiscated vehicles under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016 and its amended provisions of 2018. The auction will cover vehicles seized and later confiscated in various excise and police cases across the district.
According to the notification, the public auction will be held on January 7, 2026, from 11.30 am at the office premises of the Superintendent, Prohibition Department, Maheshadih, Banka. A second auction will be conducted on the same date for vehicles that remain unsold in the first round.
The last date for submission of applications is January 5, 2026, up to 5 pm, at the office of the Superintendent of Prohibition, Banka.
As per the consolidated list, around 75–80 vehicles will be auctioned on a “Official Notification” basis. These include a wide mix of two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers, as well as a few vehicles meant strictly for scrap.
Major categories include:
Motorcycles: Hero (Splendor, Glamour, HF Deluxe, Passion Pro), TVS (Sport, Apache, Radeon), Bajaj (Platina, Discover, Pulsar), Honda (Shine, Unicorn), Yamaha and others
Cars: Maruti Suzuki (Alto, Eeco, WagonR-type models), Hyundai, Tata and other passenger vehicles
Commercial vehicles: Mahindra Bolero pickup, Tata 407, Tata trucks
Three-wheelers: Piaggio Ape autos, e-rickshaws and tempos
Scrap vehicles: Several old or unidentifiable two-wheelers, cars and autos marked for scrap disposal only
The reserve prices range from about ₹200 for scrap cycles to over ₹6.9 lakh for higher-end four-wheelers, with corresponding earnest money deposits (EMD) mentioned against each vehicle.
Applicants must submit an application, affidavit, ID proof and EMD (as specified for each vehicle) by the due date, either via bank draft or transfer to the designated Prohibition Department account.
Successful bidders will have to deposit the full bid amount plus 3% service charge (payable to BSBC Ltd) within three days of the auction.
Vehicles will be handed over after completion of formalities; registration and documentation will be the buyer’s responsibility.
Vehicles marked as scrap will be dismantled and handed over accordingly after auction.
The department reserves the right to cancel the auction of any or all vehicles without assigning reasons.
Vehicle owners who have filed appeals, revisions or statutory applications in respect of the listed vehicles have been asked to inform the auction committee with documentary proof before the auction date. Owners are also permitted to participate in the auction.
