The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has announced a fresh opportunity for applicants under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) by reopening registrations for vacant flats in two major housing schemes—Basant Kunj Scheme (Sector-I) and Sharda Nagar Extension Scheme.
This move comes after a significant number of flats remained unallotted following the earlier lottery process.
Under the PMAY framework, LDA had earlier invited applications for 3,792 flats in Basant Kunj Sector-I. Registration was open until 30 September 2023, and a lottery was conducted among 7,771 eligible applicants.
Successful applicants: 959
Unsuccessful applicants: 6,728
After the lottery, 776 flats remained vacant. LDA has now decided to reopen registration exclusively for the 6,728 unsuccessful applicants.
Total vacant flats: 776
Eligibility: Only applicants who were unsuccessful in the earlier lottery
Re-registration dates: 7 January 2026 to 8 February 2026
Registration fee: ₹5,000
Allotment method: Lottery (as per existing rules & conditions)
Official website: lda.lucknow.in
In another important update, LDA has also reopened registration for 185 PMAY flats under the Sharda Nagar Extension Scheme, which remained vacant after earlier allotments.
Last date for online registration: 31 January 2026
Registration fee: ₹5,000
Mode: Online only via lda.lucknow.in
This scheme is particularly beneficial for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) families seeking affordable housing in Lucknow.
Both schemes offer a rare second chance for eligible PMAY applicants—especially those who missed out earlier—to secure an affordable home in Lucknow, one of Uttar Pradesh’s fastest-growing cities.
Separately, the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) has announced the lottery schedule for the Basant Kunj Residential Scheme – Phase 1 (Second Phase), which includes plots of various categories.
Date: 6 January 2026
Time: 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Venue: Auditorium, Ayodhya Development Authority, Ayodhya
Who can attend: Eligible applicants
More details are available on the official ADA portal: ayodhya dda.in (login required).
With reopened registrations, vacant inventory, and transparent lottery-based allotment, LDA’s latest announcement presents a valuable second chance for PMAY applicants—particularly EWS families—to own a home in Lucknow. Applicants are advised to complete registration within the stipulated timelines and verify all details on the official websites.
