The District Excise Office, Nuapada, Odisha , has invited applications for the auction sale of 21 confiscated vehicles seized under Excise Act and rules. The auction includes motorcycles, a scooter, a battery auto-rickshaw, a pickup vehicle and other vehicles.
According to the auction sale notice dated September 28, 2026 , interested persons, firms and agencies can submit their applications along with the required documents and Rs 1,000 Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) for each vehicle .
The last date to submit applications is October 12, 2026, by 5 pm , while the sealed applications will be opened on October 13, 2026, at 11 am at the Office of the Inspector of Excise, Nuapada Range, located on the District Excise Office campus.

The source notice lists the vehicles at different Excise offices and stations in Nuapada district , including Nuapada Range, Excise Station Nuapada, Khariar and Sinapali.

The inspection can be carried out on government working days during office hours within seven days from the date of announcement of the auction notice . The department has specified that bidders should inspect the vehicles before submitting their sealed applications.
The auction is conducted on an “as is where is and whatever there is” basis . By submitting the sealed application, the applicant will be treated as having inspected the vehicle. The notice states that no subsequent complaint regarding the condition of the vehicle will be entertained.
Applicants have to submit an EMD of Rs 1,000 for each vehicle .
The EMD must be submitted through an Account Payee Bank Draft in favour of the Superintendent of Excise, Nuapada , payable at SBI, Nuapada .
Applications without the required EMD will be rejected. If a bidder wants to participate for more than one vehicle, a separate application form and sealed cover are required for each vehicle. However, the notice permits the EMD for multiple vehicles to be deposited cumulatively through one Bank Draft, subject to the specified submission procedure.

The application form also requires details including the vehicle registration number, vehicle type, applicant's name, father's or husband's name, postal address, mobile number, identity proof and EMD bank draft details .
The completed application must reach the office of the Superintendent of Excise, Nuapada on or before October 12, 2026, at 5 pm .
Applications can be submitted by registered post or speed post , or placed in the locked and sealed application box kept in the office chamber of the Superintendent of Excise, Nuapada, as specified in the notice.
Applicants have been instructed to superscribe the sealed cover with “Application for Auction Vehicle.” The notice also states that applications will not be accepted after the stipulated deadline.
The sealed applications will be opened on October 13, 2026, at 11 am .
The opening will take place at the Office Chamber of the Superintendent of Excise, Nuapada . The auction sale is also scheduled for October 13 at 11 am at the Office of the Inspector of Excise, Nuapada Range, within the District Excise Office campus.
If the scheduled date is declared a government holiday, the applications will be opened on the next working day at the scheduled time. The department has stated that postal delivery delays will not be considered.
The highest bid offer will be accepted, subject to the conditions specified in the auction notice.
The successful bidder has to deposit the full bid amount within seven days from the date of the auction sale or confirmation/ratification, as applicable.
If the highest bidder fails to deposit the required amount within the stipulated period, the EMD will be forfeited to the government exchequer , and the vehicle may be put up for re-auction at the risk of the highest bidder. The notice also provides for acceptance of the second-highest bid in the circumstances specified in the auction conditions.
The auctioned vehicle will not be delivered to the successful bidder until the full auction amount has been realised and the required formalities have been completed.
The successful bidder has to take delivery and remove the vehicle from the site within seven days of the relevant final payment and confirmation.
If the vehicle is not removed within the stipulated period, the responsibility for its custody and safety will rest with the successful bidder. The department will charge ground rent at 1% of the bid or negotiated amount for each day or part of a day until the vehicle is removed.
The notice states that the vehicles were seized for violations of the Excise Act and rules .
The transfer of ownership will be carried out after payment of the applicable ownership-transfer fees and submission of the required application form and documents. The auction purchaser is responsible for completing the process to get the vehicle ownership record transferred into their name.
