Koderma: The Jharkhand Forest Department has announced a public auction of 69 confiscated vehicles under the Koderma Forest Division. The vehicles will be sold through a sealed tender process on an “As Is Where Is” and “As Is What Is” basis, offering an opportunity for individuals and businesses to purchase trucks, tractors, motorcycles, and heavy machinery.
According to the official notice issued by the Divisional Forest Officer, Koderma, interested bidders must submit their sealed tenders by March 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM. The bids will be opened the same day at 2:30 PM in the presence of the bidders or their authorized representatives at the Divisional Office of the Koderma Forest Division.
Authorities stated that any person having a claim or objection regarding the listed vehicles must submit supporting documents before March 22, 2026, by 5:00 PM at the Divisional Office. If no claims are filed within the deadline, it will be assumed that there are no objections to the sale of the confiscated vehicles through auction.
The auction includes a total of 69 vehicles seized under various cases, including:
Tata 709 trucks
Tata 407 mini trucks
Mahindra Bolero pickup vehicles
Mahindra Commander Jeeps
Mahindra tractors with compressor units
JCB cutting and loading machines
10-wheel and 12-wheel heavy trucks
Hero, Honda, Yamaha, and Bajaj motorcycles
Tempo and pickup vehicles
Most of these vehicles are currently stored at Domchanch Range, while a few are located at Satgawan Range, Gazhandi Range, and Koderma Range.
OFFICIAL NOTICE
To participate in the auction, bidders must submit an earnest money deposit (Gate Money) through a bank draft payable to the Divisional Forest Officer, Koderma Forest Division.
The deposit amount is:
₹10,000 for each vehicle
₹5,000 for motorcycles
The bank draft must be drawn from any nationalized bank branch in Koderma district and submitted before 2:00 PM on the auction date.
The Forest Department has made it clear that GST registration is mandatory for all individuals, firms, or establishments participating in the auction. Each vehicle requires a separate tender form.
Payment Terms for Successful Bidders
The successful bidder must deposit 25% of the vehicle’s purchase price immediately on the auction day as a security amount. The remaining balance, along with applicable taxes such as Income Tax and GST, must be paid within 30 days of the auction date.
The department also stated that GST must be paid under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) as per the applicable rules. Copies of the tax challan and returns must be submitted before the vehicles are released.
Interested buyers can inspect the vehicles during office hours at their respective storage locations before participating in the auction. The vehicles will be sold strictly on an “as is where is” basis, and buyers will have to arrange transportation at their own expense.
Government Reserves Right to Modify Auction
Officials said that the Divisional Forest Officer, Koderma Forest Division, reserves the right to change or cancel the auction schedule without prior notice.
If the successful bidder fails to pay the remaining amount within 30 days, the earnest money and security deposit will be forfeited in favor of the Government of Jharkhand.

Officials added that tenders can also be sent by post, provided the sealed envelope along with the earnest money reaches the office before 2:00 PM on March 24, 2026.
In case of any dispute related to the auction process, the jurisdiction will remain Koderma.
