GURUGRAM: The Haryana Police Department is set to conduct an online e-auction of 688 condemned and unserviceable vehicles lying at police premises in Gurugram. The auction includes motorcycles, scooters, three-wheelers and cars and will be conducted through the NIC eAuction India portal.

After the online auction closes, the bids received will be placed before the Rate Approval Committee, chaired by the SDM Manesar along with the departmental user/ACP Manesar, Gurugram, who is also the in-charge of the vehicle yard.
The committee reserves the right to accept or reject any bid without assigning a reason.
Successful bidders will receive acceptance letters on their registered email IDs.
A successful bidder must deposit the sale value of the vehicle or other auctioned item within three working days, up to 5 PM of the last working day, from the date of issue of the acceptance letter.
The applicable GST must also be deposited within the prescribed period.
After the department receives documentary proof of payment of the sale value and GST, it will issue the release order.
The purchaser must then lift the vehicle or other item within 10 days of the release order. No general grace period will be provided. A 1% penalty on the sale value may be charged if the vehicle is not lifted within the prescribed period. The DCP (HQ) Gurugram may, for a justified reason, extend the lifting period by up to three additional days without penalty.
The participation fee or EMD will be refunded to unsuccessful bidders through Demand Draft, cheque, NEFT or RTGS.
For unsuccessful bidders, the notice states that the EMD will be returned within 30 days from the closing date of the online auction.
For successful bidders, the EMD will be retained until the sale value and applicable GST have been paid and the release order has been issued. It will subsequently be refunded electronically to the account details provided by the bidder.
However, the EMD can be forfeited if a bidder withdraws or changes the bid during the auction. It can also be forfeited if a successful bidder fails to deposit the required sale value and GST within the stipulated period after receiving the acceptance letter.
The decision on whether the existing Registration Number of a vehicle will be retained rests with the department.
If the department retains the registration number, a new number will be provided by the concerned department during transfer of the Registration Certificate.
If transfer of the existing registration number is permitted, the bidder will have to pay the applicable government fees to the Transport Department for obtaining the number during the RC transfer process.

Gurugram Police has issued a public notice regarding the proposed auction of 23 seized vehicles currently kept at Police Station IMT Sector-7, Manesar. The vehicles were taken into police custody under the Police Act and the Motor Vehicles Act, and legal proceedings are underway for their disposal through auction.
According to the notice released by the Police Department, Gurugram, vehicle owners have been given a final opportunity to claim their vehicles within six months. Owners have been instructed to provide details including the registration number, engine number, and chassis number to establish ownership.
The police stated that after the completion of the six-month period, no claims will be entertained, and the vehicles will proceed for auction as per legal procedure.
