The Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) has officially announced the sale of 884 residential plots in four key locations: Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, and Dharapadavedu (Vellore). The plots will be sold on a first-come, first-served (FCFS) basis through TNHB’s online booking system, offering an opportunity for residents of Tamil Nadu to own land across different income categories.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants interested in purchasing a TNHB plot must fulfill the following conditions:

  • Nativity: Must be a native of Tamil Nadu.

  • Age: Minimum 21 years old.

  • Previous TNHB Purchase: Must not have purchased any plot, house, or flat from TNHB before, either in their name, their spouse's name, or their minor children's names.

Income Limits (by Category):

  • EWS (Economically Weaker Section): Up to ₹25,000 per month.

  • LIG (Low Income Group): ₹25,001 – ₹50,000 per month.

  • MIG (Middle Income Group): ₹50,001 – ₹70,000 per month.

  • HIG (High Income Group): Above ₹70,000 per month.

Note: Applicants with higher income can apply for plots in lower categories (except EWS).

  • Booking Opens: September 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM

  • Booking Closes: March 31, 2026

Steps to Apply:

  1. Register using a valid mobile number and create login credentials.

  2. Select a plot based on availability (FCFS system).

  3. Upload required documents such as age proof, nativity proof, income certificate, PAN, Aadhaar, and scanned signature.

  4. Make the online payment within 20 minutes of selecting a plot.

Payment Details

  • Initial Payment: 10% of the plot cost, plus application and registration fees.

  • Remaining 90%: Must be paid within 90 days of allotment.

  • Sizes: 344 sq. ft. to 2,519 sq. ft.

  • Prices: ₹2 lakh to ₹47 lakh, depending on location and category
