The Sitamarhi District Administration has announced a public auction of confiscated vehicles seized under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016 . The auction will be conducted by the office of the Collector-cum-District Magistrate, Sitamarhi , for vehicles used in alleged liquor transportation cases after the implementation of prohibition & Excise Vehicles in Bihar.
According to the official notification issued by the Bihar Excise Department, a total of 133 vehicles , including cars, motorcycles, scooters, SUVs, tempos, auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws , will be auctioned on an “ as-is, where-is ” basis.

The auction will take place in three phases at the Collectorate Campus, Discussion Hall, Dumra, Sitamarhi .

Applications must be submitted at the office of the Superintendent of Excise, Sitamarhi .

Apart from regular vehicles, the administration has also included scrap vehicles (kabad lots) in the auction. These include damaged cars, tempos, cycles and SUVs grouped into different lots.
The scrap vehicle lots are numbered from Lot 01 to Lot 10 , and bidders will have to submit 50% earnest money deposit (EMD) for participating in scrap category bidding.

Officials clarified that all vehicles will be auctioned strictly on an “ where is, as is ” basis. Buyers will have to inspect the vehicles personally before bidding and bear all transportation, registration and transfer expenses themselves.
The administration also warned that some vehicles may not be eligible for fresh registration due to unclear chassis or engine details.
Interested buyers can inspect the vehicles at the respective police stations and excise units on working days before the auction dates.
