Sheikhpura Vehicle Auction 2026: Bihar Prohibition Department to Auction 13 Seized Cars, Bikes and Commercial Vehicles on June 15

The Sheikhpura district administration has announced a public auction of confiscated vehicles seized under the provisions of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016 . The auction will be conducted by the Prohibition and Excise Department following court orders issued in various excise-related cases.

According to the notification issued by the District Magistrate's office, a total of 13 confiscated vehicles , including motorcycles, cars, a tempo, and a commercial truck, will be auctioned on June 15, 2026 , at the office of the Superintendent of Prohibition, Sheikhpura.

Officials stated that if the auction cannot be completed on the scheduled date or if some vehicles remain unsold, the process will continue on June 16, 2026 .

Security Deposit Requirement

As per auction rules, every bidder must deposit 20% of the reserve price of the vehicle for which they intend to bid. The amount must be submitted through a Bank Draft or Banker's Cheque payable to the Superintendent of Prohibition, Sheikhpura.

Unsuccessful bidders will receive their security deposit back after completion of the auction process.

Key Auction Rules

The administration has laid down several important conditions for participation:

  • Bidders must submit the prescribed application form and declaration.
  • Aadhaar Card and PAN Card are mandatory for participation.
  • Vehicles will be auctioned on an "As Is Where Is" basis .
  • Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicles before bidding.
  • No claims regarding vehicle condition will be accepted after the auction.
  • Successful bidders must immediately deposit 50% of the bid amount .
  • The remaining amount must be paid within seven days.
  • Failure to make payment may result in forfeiture of deposited money and cancellation of the bid.

Vehicle Owners Can Still Seek Release

The notification also provides an opportunity for former vehicle owners whose vehicles have been confiscated.

Owners willing to secure the release of their vehicles may submit an application in the prescribed Form IV within 10 days of publication of the notice . If a valid claim is accepted and penalty proceedings are completed, the auction of that particular vehicle may be suspended and the vehicle released in accordance with legal provisions.

Interested buyers can inspect the confiscated vehicles at the designated custody locations before the auction date. Detailed information and official updates are available through the Sheikhpura district administration.

The district administration has clarified that the auction process may also be affected by future court orders, and the auction committee reserves the right to cancel any or all auctions without assigning any reason.
