SEBI Puts 10 Used Office Cars up for Auction in Mumbai; Inspection Open till January 19th 2026

Mumbai: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has invited bids for the sale of 10 used office cars through auction in Mumbai, offering vehicles on an “Official Notification” basis. Interested bidders can inspect the vehicles and participate in the auction after submitting the required Earnest Money Deposit (EMD).

According to the auction document, SEBI — the autonomous market regulator established under the SEBI Act, 1992 — is disposing of its office vehicles and has laid down detailed terms and conditions for participation.

Vehicle inspection window open

The cars are available for physical inspection from January 06, 2026 to January 19, 2026 up to 11:00 AM, on all working days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and government holidays).

  • SEBI Bhavan II, Plot No. C-7, G Block, Bandra-Kurla Complex, Bandra (East), Mumbai – 400051

  • Timings: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

EMD and bidding details

To participate in the auction, bidders must:

  • Deposit EMD of ₹50,000 per vehicle

  • Make payment through NEFT in favour of “Securities and Exchange Board of India”

  • Use Virtual Account Code: SEBIRCEMDEPCAR01 (vehicle-wise codes also provided below)

  • Deadline for EMD payment: January 19, 2026 up to 11:00 AM

No exemption from EMD will be allowed and late deposits will be rejected. The EMD will not carry any interest. The bid amount to be quoted on the GeM portal must be above the reserve price and inclusive of GST.

Post-auction process

  • Successful bidders must deposit full sale consideration within 5 working days of sale order

  • All RTO transfer formalities and charges will be borne by the buyer

  • Vehicles will be delivered only after completion of transfer documentation

  • If the sale amount is not deposited in time, EMD will be forfeited

  • SEBI reserves the right to reject any or all bids without assigning reason
