CIDCO to E-Auction 30 Plots Near Upcoming Navi Mumbai Airport
Cidco Navi Mumbai Plot Auction
The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), the special planning authority for several parts of Navi Mumbai, has announced plans to conduct an e-auction of 30 leasehold plots located near the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA).
The announcement comes ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit in the coming weeks, during which he is expected to inaugurate the Navi Mumbai airport’s operations. On the same occasion, PM Modi is also set to flag off the partial phase of the Mumbai Metro-3 corridor in South Mumbai.
In a notice issued on September 24, CIDCO stated that the e-auction will cover plots earmarked for residential, commercial, bungalow, service industry, storage, and warehouse purposes. The complete details of the 30 plots, including their exact locations, will be made available through a booklet on the CIDCO website on September 29.
CIDCO’s Planned Nodes
As the designated planning authority, CIDCO has developed 14 nodes across Navi Mumbai, including Airoli, Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar, Kamothe, New Panvel, Ulwe, and Dronagiri, among others. Traditionally, land parcels in these nodes were allotted on a leasehold basis of 30 years.
Freehold Conversion Policy
In a significant policy shift earlier in July 2025, CIDCO announced that residential plots allotted on a leasehold basis could now be converted into freehold. Plot owners are required to submit relevant documents and pay a prescribed conversion fee to avail of this benefit.
