The auction will take place on July 9, 2026 , providing an opportunity for individuals to purchase two-wheelers and four-wheelers through a transparent public bidding process.

The auction has been organized for vehicles that have remained unclaimed after legal proceedings. Interested buyers can inspect the vehicles before participating in the auction and complete the required registration formalities by depositing the prescribed earnest money.

Chengalpattu Police Vehicle Auction 2026

According to the official notification, the public auction will be held on July 9, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the vehicle parking area behind the Chengalpattu Integrated Court Complex .

A total of 85 seized vehicles , including motorcycles, scooters, cars and other four-wheelers , will be offered for sale. These vehicles were seized in connection with different criminal cases and remained unclaimed.

The auction is open to eligible members of the public who complete the registration process and pay the required earnest money deposit before participating.

Vehicle Inspection Schedule

Before the auction, interested bidders can physically inspect the available vehicles.

Most of the vehicles are parked at the Chengalpattu Integrated Court Complex , while 22 two-wheelers are available for inspection at the Thirukazhukundram Court Complex .

Registration Process and Earnest Money Deposit

Those interested in participating must register at the Office of the Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), Chengalpattu District Police Office .

  • Photo identity proof with address such as Aadhaar Card or Driving Licence
  • Required Earnest Money Deposit (EMD)

The prescribed EMD is:

  • ₹5,000 for four-wheelers
  • ₹2,000 for two-wheelers

The police have clarified that the EMD will be refunded after the completion of the auction on July 9, 2026 , to participants who are not successful in bidding, subject to the auction terms.

Payment Rules for Successful Bidders

Winning bidders must complete the payment immediately after the auction.

Successful purchasers will be required to:

  • Pay the full bid amount in cash
  • Pay an additional 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST)
  • Take delivery of the purchased vehicle immediately after payment

Authorities have also directed that all auctioned vehicles must be removed from the court premises within 24 hours after the completion of the auction.
