Bhojpur Administration Announces Urgent Auction of Confiscated Vehicles

Ara: The Bhojpur district administration has announced a very short notice public auction of vehicles confiscated under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act 2016 as amended. The vehicles were seized by various police stations of the district and auction will be conducted as per orders of the District Magistrate Bhojpur Ara.

The auction will be conducted by a five member committee headed by the Additional Collector Bhojpur.

Bhojpur to Auction 39 Seized Vehicles and Heavy Machines on January 8

Ara:
The Bhojpur district administration will conduct a public auction of 39 confiscated vehicles and heavy construction machines seized in cases of illegal mining, transportation and storage. The auction will be held on January 8, 2026, at 11 am in the auditorium of the Collectorate, Bhojpur (Ara), officials said.

According to an ultra-short-term auction notice issued by the Collector-cum-District Magistrate, Bhojpur, the vehicles and machines have been confiscated under the Bihar Minerals (Concession, Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage) Rules, 2019, as amended in 2024. The auction will be conducted strictly on a Official Notification basis.

Vehicles and machines on offer

The auction list includes a wide range of seized assets, such as:

  • Trucks (6-wheel, 10-wheel, 12-wheel and 14-wheelers)

  • Loaders

  • Excavators/Poclain machines (Komatsu, Hyundai, CAT, JCB, SANY and others)

Some vehicles have been classified as scrap, while others include mineral-loaded vehicles, which will be auctioned along with the mineral. The assessed value of the assets ranges from a few lakh rupees to over ₹17 lakh, with corresponding earnest money deposits (EMD) fixed for each item.

Application and verification process

Interested bidders must submit their applications along with the prescribed earnest money deposit (EMD) on December 24, 2025, between 10 am and 5 pm, at the office of the Collector, Bhojpur.

Applicants are required to submit self-attested copies of:

  • PAN card

  • Aadhaar card

  • GST registration

  • Character certificate

  • Affidavit certifying no outstanding mining dues

The EMD must be deposited through a bank draft in favour of Mineral Development Officer, Bhojpur (Ara), payable at Ara. Tender documents will be scrutinised by the district-level purchase committee on January 2, 3 and 5, 2026.

Key auction conditions

  • Successful bidders must pay the entire auction amount within three working days, after adjusting the EMD. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the EMD.

  • Unsuccessful bidders will receive a refund of their EMD within three working days after the auction.

  • Only a vehicle purchase confirmation letter will be issued to the successful bidder; preparation of registration and related documents will be the buyer’s responsibility.

  • All applicable taxes, registration fees and statutory dues must be borne by the buyer.

  • Vehicles that are non-registrable or listed as scrap will be bid for entirely at the bidder’s own risk.

  • Physical inspection of the vehicles prior to bidding is mandatory, and no claims or objections will be entertained after the auction.

  • The auction committee reserves the right to cancel the auction of any or all vehicles without assigning any reason.

  • Vehicles covered by any court stay order will not be auctioned.
