The Madurai district police will conduct a public auction of 14 condemned vehicles at the Armed Reserve Ground on November 18. The lot includes eight four-wheelers and six two-wheelers, according to an official release.
The auction is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., and only individuals with a valid GST account will be permitted to participate. Eligible participants must register by paying a ₹5,000 fee and submitting a copy of their Aadhaar card.
Prospective bidders can inspect the vehicles at the Armed Reserve Ground until 5 p.m. on November 17.

A total of 49 vehicles confiscated by the Madurai City Police in connection with ganja smuggling cases are set to go under the hammer on September 22.
According to officials, the auction will be conducted by the Narcotics Drugs Eradication Committee, under the leadership of the Madurai City Commissioner. The seized vehicles include two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers, which are currently stationed at the Madurai Armed Reserve Ground.
Prospective bidders will have the opportunity to inspect the vehicles before the auction. To participate, they are required to submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of:
₹5,000 for two-wheelers
₹10,000 for three-wheelers and four-wheelers
The EMD must be paid on or before September 19.
Officials noted that the auction provides an opportunity for individuals and businesses to acquire used vehicles while also ensuring that assets linked to criminal activities are repurposed through legal channels.
