WBHIDCO Announces E-Auction of Six Residential Plots in New Town, Kolkata

Kolkata: The West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (WBHIDCO), a government undertaking under the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, has announced an e-auction for allotment of six residential land parcels in Action Area II of New Town, Kolkata. The auctions will be conducted through the National Informatics Centre’s e-auction portal on February 13, 2026.

According to official notices issued on January 15, 2026, the plots are being offered on a freehold basis strictly for residential purposes. WBHIDCO has invited bids from eligible corporate bodies registered under the Companies Act, registered trusts, societies and LLPs.

The e-auction will commence at 12 noon and continue till 3 pm, with auto-extension in case of last-minute bids. All allotments will be made to the highest eligible bidder, subject to the bid exceeding the reserve price and approval by the Government of West Bengal.

WBHIDCO has clarified that change in land-use will not be permitted. Successful bidders must begin construction within one year of possession and complete development within five years, as per the authority’s development norms.

A pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for January 21, 2026, at 3 pm at HIDCO Bhawan, New Town, to address queries from prospective bidders.

Earnest Money Deposits (EMD) must be submitted on or before February 6, 2026, up to 2 pm, through NEFT/RTGS into WBHIDCO’s account maintained with Union Bank of India, Salt Lake Branch, Kolkata. Only digitally signed bids will be accepted, and bidders must possess a Class II or Class III Digital Signature Certificate.
