UP Housing Board to hold e-auction of residential, commercial plots across 7 cities on March 25
The Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Council has announced an e-auction of residential, commercial and institutional properties in several cities of the state, with the bidding scheduled for March 25, 2026. The auction will cover properties located in Meerut, Agra, Bareilly, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Kanpur and Lucknow zones, according to an official notice issued by the authority.
The auction has been announced on the occasion of Chaitra Navratri, and interested buyers can register online by depositing the required token amount within the specified dates.
As per the schedule, online registration and deposit of token money will be open from March 9 to March 24, 2026. Eligible bidders who complete the process will be able to participate in the e-auction on March 25 through the official online portal.
The housing authority said that if only one bid is received for any property on the auction date, the property will be put up for re-auction to encourage competitive bidding.
In such cases, fresh registration for new applicants will be allowed from March 27 to April 15, 2026, while the re-auction will take place on April 16, 2026.
The properties being auctioned under various housing schemes include:
Residential houses and plots
Group housing plots
Educational plots
Nursing home and hospital plots
Commercial and hotel plots
Institutional plots
Premium housing plots and other land parcels
Officials said the initiative aims to provide opportunities for individual homebuyers as well as developers looking to invest in residential and commercial projects.
One of the major highlights of the auction is the availability of land in Vrindavan Yojana in Lucknow, where more than 258 acres have been earmarked for IT and artificial intelligence infrastructure development. The plots are expected to attract technology companies and institutional investors.
In Ghaziabad, the authority is offering large group housing plots, which could be suitable for developers planning large residential projects.
Plots are also available in Greenfield Township Ayodhya in Ayodhya for multiple uses including hotels, group housing projects, institutional establishments and nursing homes, reflecting the growing investment potential in the temple city.
The housing authority said the auction will be conducted through its official e-auction portal, and bidders are advised to carefully review property details and eligibility conditions before submitting applications.
The properties will be auctioned on an “as is where is” and “as is what is” basis, meaning buyers will acquire them in their existing condition.
Applicants bidding under reserved categories must upload relevant documents during registration. Any discrepancy or submission of incorrect documents may lead to cancellation of the bid.

Construction must be completed within 5 years of physical possession, otherwise penalties/extension charges may apply.
