The site will be at least 500 meters away from areas affected by frequent flooding,” an official said.

Modern, Self-Sustained Township

The proposed township will be developed with modern infrastructure and amenities. Plans include underground sewage and drainage systems, upgraded street lighting, landscaped green parks, and dedicated community spaces. Officials said the project is intended to offer affordable housing while also raising the standard of civic services in the area.

Land Acquisition Plans

Before construction begins, the Housing Board will secure environmental approvals. Once clearances are granted, land acquisition will follow. The Board is considering two approaches: direct compensation to landowners or adopting a land pooling model, under which farmers can become stakeholders in the development process.

Neeraj Shukla, Secretary of the Housing Board, said the township reflects the government’s commitment to expand housing opportunities in urban centers of Uttar Pradesh. “Our inspection was aimed at reviewing and finalizing the site. This township will provide new opportunities for thousands of residents in Prayagraj,” he said.
