TN Housing Board to Auction Plots in Chennai via E-Tender, E-Auction
Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Housing Board has announced the sale of multiple residential, commercial and public-purpose plots under its Besant Nagar Division through e-tender and e-auction.
The plots are located across key schemes including Sholinganallur (Phases I & III), Sithalapakkam and Thiruvanmiyur Extension, offering a mix of residential plots, shop sites, commercial spaces and service industry sites.
According to the official notification, a total of 13 plots will be auctioned, with sizes ranging from 233 sq ft to 42,948 sq ft. The offerings include:
Public purpose sites in Sholinganallur Phase III
Commercial and prime commercial plots in Sithalapakkam
Shop sites and residential plots in Thiruvanmiyur Extension
Smaller shop sites in Sholinganallur Phase I
The minimum (reserve) price of the plots ranges from ₹16.93 lakh to ₹15.24 crore, depending on location, size and category.

The housing board has opened online applications from February 19, 2026 (10 am), with the last date for submission set as March 20, 2026 (5 pm).
Tender opening: March 23, 2026 (12 pm)
E-auction date: March 24, 2026 (from 11 am onwards)
Only applicants who successfully submit their forms within the deadline will be eligible to participate in the auction.
Applicants are required to pay 15% of the minimum price as the application fee.
Successful bidders must pay:
25% of the final bid amount upfront (including the 15% already paid)
Remaining 10% on the same day of auction
The balance amount is to be paid in phases:
50% within 6 weeks
25% within 12 weeks
Officials said the initiative aims to facilitate transparent allotment of prime land parcels through digital platforms while ensuring wider participation.

The Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) has officially announced the sale of 331 residential flats across three prime locations in Chennai: Sholinganallur, Indira Nagar, and Anna Nagar West Extension. The flats will be allotted on a “First Come, First Serve” (FCFS) basis through an online platform, providing a convenient opportunity for eligible homebuyers.
The TNHB project comprises a total of 331 flats spread across a 92-ground area, with plinth sizes ranging from 597 sq. ft. to 1,609 sq. ft. The distribution of flats by location is as follows:
Sholinganallur (1500 MSB): 296 flats
Indira Nagar (204 MSB): 1 flat
Anna Nagar West Extension (90 MSB): 34 flats
Flats will be allotted online through the FCFS system, where applications are processed strictly in the order of submission. A common pool of flats is available to all eligible applicants.
To apply for these flats, individuals must meet the following requirements:
Be a native of Tamil Nadu.
Be 21 years or older.
Not have purchased any TNHB property in their name, spouse’s name, or minor children’s name.
Meet the income criteria:
Low Income Group (LIG): ₹25,001 – ₹50,000 per month
Middle Income Group (MIG): ₹50,001 – ₹70,000 per month
Applicants from higher income groups may opt for lower-category flats (except EWS) subject to TNHB approval.

Application Steps:
Register with a mobile number and create login credentials.
Login and select the preferred flats based on availability.
Upload required documents: age proof, nativity certificate, income proof, PAN, Aadhaar, and scanned signature.
Make payment online within 20 minutes of selecting a flat using Internet Banking, Debit Card, or IMPS.
The payment includes 10% of the flat cost upfront, along with an application fee and registration fee. The remaining 90% must be paid within 90 days of allotment.
