Tiruvallur Police to Auction 44 Seized Vehicles on Jan 29

Tiruvallur:
The Tiruvallur District Police have announced an open public auction of 44 vehicles seized in prohibition-related cases, officials said in a press release issued on January 13, 2026.

The auction is being conducted in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.41 dated August 21, 2024, of the Prohibition and Excise (VIII) Department, and as per the orders of the Superintendent of Police, Tiruvallur district.

Auction Details

  • Date: January 29, 2026

  • Time: From 10.00 AM onwards

  • Venue: Near the Armed Reserve Ground, Office of the Superintendent of Police, Tiruvallur

  • Mode: Open public auction

Vehicles on Offer

A total of 44 vehicles will go under the hammer, comprising:

  • 38 two-wheelers

  • 2 three-wheelers

  • 4 four-wheelers

All vehicles were seized in connection with prohibition-related cases from various police stations in the district.

Earnest Money Deposit (EMD)

Prospective bidders must pay the following as advance deposit:

  • ₹1,000 for each two-wheeler

  • ₹5,000 for each three-wheeler and four-wheeler

Tokens for participating in the auction will be issued on the auction day between 8.00 am and 10.00 am.

Taxes & Payment Terms

Successful bidders must immediately pay the bid amount along with applicable government sales tax:

  • 12% tax for two-wheelers

  • 18% tax for three-wheelers and four-wheelers

Vehicle Details & Reserve Price

The complete list of vehicles along with their reserve prices has been displayed on the notice board of the Superintendent of Police office, Tiruvallur.

Identity Requirements

  • Vehicle owners claiming their vehicles must bring the RC Book and Aadhaar Card.

  • Participants in the public auction must carry Aadhaar card or any government-approved photo ID.

  • The advance deposit will be refunded to those who do not succeed in winning any bid.

Official Statement

Superintendent of Police Vivekanand Sukla said the auction is being conducted in a transparent manner as per government rules and urged interested bidders to inspect the vehicles before participating.

The information was released by the District Public Relations Officer, Tiruvallur.

The Tiruvallur District Revenue Unit has announced the public auction of eight condemned government vehicles (jeeps) that were previously allocated to the District Collector and subordinate officers. The auction is scheduled for October 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the District Collector’s Office, Tiruvallur.

Notice

The sale will be conducted under the supervision of a sales committee headed by the Personal Assistant (General) to the District Collector. The vehicles have been declared unfit for official use and are now being disposed of through a transparent bidding process.

Public Auction of Condemned Government Vehicles

It is hereby notified that the condemned government vehicles (jeeps) previously allotted to the District Collector and subordinate officers will be sold through public auction as per the following schedule:

  • Date of Auction: 07.10.2025

  • Time: 11:00 AM

  • Venue: District Collector’s Office, Tiruvallur

  • Auction Supervision: Sales Committee headed by the Personal Assistant (General) to the District Collector

Terms & Conditions:

  • The auction will be conducted on “As Is Where Is” basis.

  • Vehicles may be inspected at their respective offices during working hours before the auction.

  • Successful bidders must make payment in accordance with the prescribed rules.

  • The District Administration reserves the right to cancel or postpone the auction without assigning any reason.
