The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has announced an online public e-auction of six vehicles seized for various offences under the Motor Vehicles Act, as well as cases involving non-payment of vehicle tax and other government dues.
The Pune RTO e-auction 2026 is scheduled for August 21, 2026 , from 12 pm to 4 pm . The auction will be conducted online through the MSTC e-auction platform .

PUNE: Pune Traffic Police have seized 1,317 abandoned vehicles found lying on public roads, internal lanes and footpaths across the city, paving the way for a possible public auction if their owners fail to come forward within the stipulated period.
The crackdown was launched against vehicles that had remained unattended for several months and were occupying valuable public space. According to the traffic police, such vehicles were also contributing to traffic congestion and safety concerns for pedestrians .
The seized vehicles, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers , have been shifted to the vehicle storage facility at Ramtekdi Industrial Estate in Hadapsar , where they are being kept at the dumping yard.
Vehicle owners or legal heirs whose vehicles may have been seized have been given 15 days to establish their ownership .
The traffic police have advised citizens to visit the Ramtekdi dumping yard and check whether their vehicle is among those seized. Those claiming ownership will have to approach the concerned police inspector and submit the required documents within the prescribed period.
The action has been undertaken under the relevant provisions of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 , following directions from the police commissioner.
The police have issued a clear warning that vehicles for which no owner or legal heir establishes a valid claim within the 15-day period may be treated as having vested in the government under the applicable provisions of Section 87 of the Maharashtra Police Act .
