Puducherry Smart Bus Stand Shops eAuction

The Puducherry government has announced an online e-auction of 34 commercial shops located at the Puducherry Integrated Smart Bus Stand. The auction will be conducted through the National Informatics Centre (NIC) e-Auction portal in compliance with directions issued by the Hon’ble Madras High Court.

The official e-auction notice was issued on 14 January 2026, inviting eligible bidders to participate through www.eauction.gov.in.

Details of Shops to Be Auctioned

  • Total shops: 34

  • Location: Puducherry Integrated Smart Bus Stand

  • Nature: Newly reconstructed commercial shops

  • Shop sizes: Ranging from approximately 170 sq.ft to 320 sq.ft

High Court Directions

The auction is being conducted as per the Madras High Court order in W.P. No. 38981 of 2024 dated 06 January 2025.

As per the order:

  • Existing shopkeepers who were operating before the demolition of the old bus stand will be given first preference

  • If they agree to match the highest bid amount, the shop will be allotted to them

  • If they decline, the shop will be allotted to the highest bidder

How to Apply

Interested bidders must:

  • Register on www.eauction.gov.in

  • Possess a valid Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)

  • Have PAN Card and Aadhaar Card

  • Upload the prescribed application form along with documents

Earnest Money Deposit (EMD)

  • EMD amount: ₹500 per shop (minimum)

  • EMD varies depending on shop size

  • Payment must be made via NEFT to the designated bank account

  • EMD will be refunded to unsuccessful bidders as per rules

Key Conditions

  • A fresh lease agreement will be executed after auction

  • Providing false information may lead to disqualification

  • The auction authority reserves the right to cancel or postpone the auction without assigning reasons

  • Allotment is subject to government rules and court directions
