Pune RTO to Hold E-Auction for Seized Vehicles

Oct 07 2025

The Pune Sub-Regional Transport Office (RTO) has announced an e-auction for 38 vehicles that were seized for violating motor vehicle rules, as owners have not paid the penalty to reclaim them. The auction is scheduled for October 15, 2025, from 10 AM to 6 PM.

These vehicles include two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and heavy vehicles, currently stored at various locations such as the Pune RTO office, Hadapsar PMP bus station, Rajgurunagar police station, and PMP station in Shewalwadi. Vehicle owners, drivers, financiers, or anyone legally linked to the vehicles can still redeem them by paying the applicable penalty before the auction date, as stated by the Sub-Regional Transport Officer, Swapnil Bhosale. After the auction, no claims or objections will be entertained.

According to the Motor Vehicle Act, vehicles with pending taxes, expired licenses, or incomplete documents are periodically inspected by the Vayuveg team. Seized vehicles are retained until owners clear dues or take corrective action. Since many vehicle owners have not come forward to settle penalties, the RTO decided to auction them online.

Auction Details:

  • Interested bidders can view the vehicles at Hadapsar, Shewalwadi, and the Sub-Regional Transport Office in Pune from October 6 to October 13.

  • Registration is required on http://www.eauction.gov.in.

  • A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is mandatory for registration.

  • A security deposit of Rs. 10,000 for two-wheelers and a demand draft of Rs. 50,000 for larger vehicles (trucks, buses, minibuses) in favor of RTO Pune is required to participate.

The RTO has emphasized that only those who complete the registration and deposit procedure will be allowed to bid during the e-auction.
