OSHB, BDA Allot Over 1,600 Plots & Houses in Bhubaneswar; 166 New Plots Ready Under Vasudev Vihar Scheme

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB) and the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) have allotted more than 1,600 residential plots and housing units across multiple schemes in the capital city over the past three decades. The information was shared by state housing & urban development minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, in response to a query raised by legislator Manorama Mohanty in the state assembly.

According to the official statement, OSHB alone has allotted 692 houses and plots under two major schemes in the city. These include 460 MIG and HIG units under the Satyasai Enclave project in Mouza Aiginia, and 232 HIG units under the Dharma Vihar project at Mouza Jagamara.

The BDA, meanwhile, has carried out large-scale allotments through several of its housing projects. Under the Pokhariput Housing Scheme, BDA allotted 67 MIG houses, 72 single-unit HIG houses, and 30 duplex HIG units. In Ananta Housing Scheme Phase-II, the authority allotted 160 MIG houses, 63 HIG duplex units, and 13 residential plots, while Phase-III included 100 MIG houses and 39 LIG units.

Significantly, under the Lingaraj Vihar Joint Venture project at Mouza Bhimpur, 108 houses were allotted by BDA, while 321 units were distributed by the private partner Keshari Estate Pvt Ltd, bringing the joint allotment tally to 429 houses.

Officials said that BDA’s total allotments across its standalone schemes exceed 650 units, excluding the JV partner’s share. Both OSHB and BDA are also working on several upcoming projects to cater to the rising demand for affordable housing in Bhubaneswar.

In addition, OSHB is currently executing another plotting project at Jagannath Prasad, offering 166 developed plots under the Vasudev Vihar scheme. Although allotment and registration formalities are complete, the final handover has been delayed due to slow infrastructure work like roads and drainage.

BDA, on the other hand, is developing its largest-ever township projectEkamra Residency in Subuddhipur—comprising more than 700 housing units. The authority is also expected to announce a new plotting scheme in the city soon.
