Under the Traffic Department of the Nagpur City Police Commissionerate, a number of unclaimed vehicles have been lying for a long period in various traffic divisions. For the purpose of disposal as scrap, a total of 712 vehicles stored at the Traffic Divisions of Indora, Sakkardara, Cotton Market, Lakadganj, Sadar, Sonegaon, MIDC, and Dump Yard, and 285 vehicles stored at the Traffic Divisions of Sitabuldi, Ajni, Kamthi, and Dump Yard — making a total of 997 vehicles — were earlier scheduled to be auctioned on two different dates: 11.08.2025 and 13.08.2025.
However, there has been a partial change in the auction dates and venue. Now, all 997 vehicles, from all traffic divisions and the dump yard, will be publicly auctioned on 13.08.2025 at 3:00 PM at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, near Swagat Lawn, Civil Lines, Nagpur.
Before the auction, all concerned participants are requested to inspect the vehicles stored under the respective traffic divisions and take part in the auction.

The Traffic Branch of Nagpur City Police has announced the auction of 392 unclaimed vehicles currently impounded at two major police locations in the city. The initiative is being undertaken in accordance with prescribed government regulations to clear long-abandoned assets and streamline operations across police premises.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Lohit Matani, the unclaimed vehicles comprise:
172 vehicles parked at Sonegaon Police Ground
220 vehicles stored at Indora Police Yard
“These vehicles have remained unclaimed between June 18, 1991, and May 28, 2025,” said DCP Matani. “The auction will be carried out in a fair and transparent manner under the supervision of an official committee. All disposals will be made to the highest eligible bidders, as per standard auction procedures.”
Citizens, institutions, and interested bidders are encouraged to participate in the auction process. The complete list of vehicles has been made publicly available and can be accessed through the official Nagpur Police website:

Eligible individuals or entities interested in participating must submit their applications within seven (7) days to the Traffic DCP Office, Nagpur. The auction schedule, terms, and other relevant details will be communicated to shortlisted applicants accordingly.
The entire auction process will be conducted under official oversight to ensure transparency and adherence to legal norms. The initiative not only helps declutter police facilities but also offers citizens an opportunity to purchase vehicles at competitive rates through lawful means.
