Madhya Pradesh Housing Board to Sell Properties via E-Auction Instead of Lottery

The Madhya Pradesh Housing Board (MPHB) has announced a major change in the way its properties will be sold. Going forward, plots, houses, shops, and other properties will no longer be allotted through a lottery system. Instead, the Board is introducing an e-auction system, where properties will be awarded to the highest bidder.

Under this new system, property prices will not be fixed in advance. Prospective buyers will participate in online bidding, with the highest bid determining the sale. Initially, the e-auction system will be implemented for select properties in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur, with plans to expand to other locations in the future.

The Housing Board has also launched a dedicated e-auction portal, which will provide detailed information on all prime-location properties, including:

  • Minimum base price

  • Online bidding dates

  • Registration process for prospective buyers

Interested buyers must register on the e-auction portal to participate. Once registered, bids can be placed on the scheduled date, and the highest bidder will be awarded the property.

  • Auction Period: Most listings opened between July 24 and August 1, 2025, and bidding will close between August 12 and August 29, 2025, depending on the district.

  • Offer Opening Dates: Vary from August 14 to September 1, 2025.
