Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate has released a public list of 446 abandoned and unclaimed vehicles , including bikes, autos and cars, that may soon be auctioned if owners fail to claim them within the stipulated period.
According to police officials, the vehicles were found abandoned on roads and streets under different police station limits within the commissionerate jurisdiction. Over time, several police stations seized and collected these vehicles after they remained unattended or unclaimed for long durations.
The identified vehicles include two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers . Most of them have been shifted to the City Armed Reserve (CAR) Headquarters in Amberpet for safe custody. Vehicles connected to the Ghatkesar Police Station are being stored separately at the station’s designated pooling point.
Document Notice
Police officials said the complete list of abandoned vehicles has been uploaded on the official website of the commissionerate. Citizens who lost their vehicles, as well as financiers holding hypothecation rights, have been advised to verify whether their vehicle is included in the published list.
Authorities clarified that owners must approach the DCP CAR Headquarters office in Amberpet within six months from the date of publication of the notice.
Applicants will need to produce valid ownership records and other supporting documents for verification. Once the verification process is completed successfully, the vehicles will be released to their rightful owners.
The commissionerate stated that all remaining unclaimed vehicles after the six-month deadline will be disposed of through a public auction as per provisions of the Hyderabad City Police Act and other relevant legal provisions related to abandoned property and seized vehicles .
Police officials warned that vehicles not claimed within the notified period would automatically become eligible for auction proceedings.
