Kishanganj District to Auction Seized Vehicles on April 10 Under Prohibition Act
Kishanganj: The district administration has announced a public auction of confiscated vehicles seized under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016, officials said.
According to an official notification issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, Kishanganj, the vehicles were seized for their alleged use in the transportation of liquor after the implementation of complete prohibition in the state.
Auction Date, Time and Venue
The auction will be conducted on:
- Date: April 10, 2026
- Time: 11:00 AM onwards
- Venue: Kanakai Auditorium, DRDA (Rachna Bhavan), Kishanganj
Officials added that if the auction cannot be conducted on the scheduled date due to unforeseen circumstances, it will be held on the next working day.

Wide Range of Vehicles on Offer
A total of 80+ vehicles will be auctioned, including:
- Motorcycles
- Scooters
- Cars (including Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Alto, Honda, i20)
- SUVs (Scorpio, Bolero, Tata Safari Storme)
- Pickup vehicles and trucks
- E-rickshaws and tempos
- Cycles (many categorized as scrap)
Some vehicles are marked as scrap, while others are in usable condition. The auction will follow an “as is, where is, whatever there is” basis.
Reserve Price and EMD Details
Each vehicle has a minimum reserve price, and bidders must deposit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of 10% of the reserve price.

- Mode of payment: Bank Draft / Banker’s Cheque
- Payable to: Superintendent, Excise Department, Kishanganj
Inspection Facility Available
Interested bidders can inspect the vehicles during working days at:
- Excise Office premises, Kishanganj
- Bhediyadangi Jeevika Office campus
- Concerned police station premises
Key Auction Rules
- Bidders must submit an application along with a notarized affidavit (Annexure A).
- A character certificate issued by police authorities (not older than 6 months) is mandatory.
- Bidding will take place vehicle-by-vehicle.
- The highest bidder must pay the remaining amount within 2 days of winning.
- Failure to pay will result in forfeiture of EMD and blacklisting.
- Presence during auction is compulsory; authorized representatives may attend if needed.
Important Conditions
- Vehicles will be sold without any guarantee or complaint liability after auction.
- Buyers must bear transport, repair, and documentation costs.
- Scrap vehicles must be dismantled and removed by the buyer.
- Registration documents may not be provided; only an authorization letter will be issued.
- All applicable taxes must be paid by the buyer.
