The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (Goa IDC) has launched a new industrial land allotment initiative by inviting online applications for 18 leasehold industrial plots at Verna Industrial Estate . The plots have been earmarked exclusively for establishing a dedicated Handicraft Cluster , a move aimed at strengthening Goa's traditional artisan ecosystem while integrating it with modern industrial infrastructure.

The initiative is expected to benefit artisans, handicraft manufacturers, rural enterprises, cooperatives, startups and MSMEs looking to expand production through organised industrial facilities.
With this announcement, Goa IDC is continuing its cluster-based industrial development strategy . The corporation believes that creating a dedicated industrial ecosystem for handicraft units will improve productivity, market access and long-term business sustainability for traditional artisans.

The initiative is also expected to preserve Goa's rich handicraft traditions while creating new employment opportunities.
