Deputy Commissioner Kurukshetra, Harayan to Auction 36 Condemned Vehicles, Scrap via NIC Portal on Feb 6

Kurukshetra:

 The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kurukshetra, will conduct an online e-auction of 36 condemned vehicles and scrap items on February 6, 2026, through the NIC e-Auction Portal (https://eauction.gov.in).
 The auction will be held on an “as is where is” and “as is what is” basis, officials said.

The vehicles, currently lying in the premises of various government departments, include 6 Bolero's, 2 Dzire, 3 Jeep's, 4 Tata Sumo's, 3 Tavera's, Scorpio, Traveller, Maruti Eeco, 12 motorcycles, a generator, and old spare parts and scrap material. The e-auction will commence at 11 am and conclude at 3 pm on the scheduled date.

Details of Auction Lots

 As per the auction list, each vehicle has been placed under a separate lot code, with most lots consisting of one vehicle per lot. Among the major lots are multiple Mahindra Bolero vehicles, Tata Sumo SUVs, Chevrolet Tavera, Maruti Dzire, and several motorcycles registered in Haryana (HR series).
 One lot also includes old spare parts, tyres, used black oil and scrap material measured by weight and volume.

Fees and Earnest Money Deposit

 Interested bidders are required to deposit a non-refundable e-Service fee of ₹1,180 through Demand Draft prior to participation. In addition, a refundable participation fee (EMD) must be deposited as follows:

  • ₹25,000 per vehicle for four-wheelers and above
  • ₹5,000 per vehicle for two-wheelers
  • ₹10,000 for scrap, condemned spare parts, tyres and used oil (common for all such items)

Both Demand Drafts must be submitted offline at the Nazar Branch, Room No. 225, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kurukshetra, and scanned copies uploaded on the portal within the stipulated timeline.

Eligibility and Bidding Conditions

Only GST-registered firms are eligible to participate in the e-auction. Bidders must create a user account on the NIC portal and link their Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) to take part in the bidding process.

The minimum bid increment has been fixed at:

  • ₹1,000 for four-wheelers and larger vehicles
  • ₹200 for two-wheelers

Separate slab-based increments for scrap items depending on weight, volume or quantity

GST and Payment Timeline

 Successful bidders will be required to deposit the full sale value within three working days of receiving the acceptance letter. Additionally, GST at 18% will be charged on all vehicles and scrap items, irrespective of whether the Registration Certificate is provided.

Vehicle Lifting and Registration

 After issuance of the release order, buyers must lift the vehicles within 10 days. Failure to do so will attract a penalty of 1% of the sale value. The decision to retain or transfer the registration number of vehicles rests solely with the concerned department.

Decision and Dispute Resolution

 Final approval of bids will be taken by a Rate Approval Committee chaired by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kurukshetra. The administration reserves the right to accept or reject any bid without assigning reasons. All disputes, if any, will fall under the jurisdiction of the respective district courts.
