The District Magistrate–cum-Collector (Excise & Prohibition Department), Buxar, has announced the public auction of vehicles confiscated under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016 (as amended in 2018). These vehicles, seized in various excise cases, will be sold on an “as-is-where-is” basis through open auction.

Most vehicles have expired fitness certificates and are categorized for scrap value disposal. Reserve prices range from as low as ₹3,000 for motorcycles to ₹5.7 lakh for larger vehicles.
Payment Deadline: Successful bidders must clear the balance by August 22, 2025 (or within 2 days for re-auctions).
Service Charge: Additional 3% service charge on the hammer price.
No Warranty: Vehicles sold strictly on “as-is-where-is” basis. No post-sale claims will be entertained.
Scrap Vehicles: Must be cut into pieces before handover. Buyers must arrange and pay for cutting, loading, and transportation.
Default Penalty: Failure to pay after winning will result in blacklisting, forfeiture of EMD, and legal action.
Registration: Buyers must handle all paperwork, registration, and taxes with the District Transport Office. The auction committee provides only a sale confirmation letter.
Authority: The auction committee reserves the right to cancel any or all sales. Proceedings may also be subject to High Court orders.
