The Chikkamagaluru residential site e-auction follows a two-stage process involving online registration and live bidding.

The site may subsequently be put up for re-auction .
In case the property is sold in a subsequent auction at a lower price, the authority may recover the loss suffered from the original successful bidder as per applicable law and rules.
The auction notice contains several conditions that prospective bidders should carefully review before participating.
Bidders must accept the site on an "as is where is" basis. Buyers are responsible for verifying the site details, dimensions, location and other relevant aspects before bidding.
The sites cannot be subdivided by the successful bidders where prohibited under the applicable rules.

For example, if the scheduled closing time is 6 PM and a bidder submits a bid at 5:57 PM , the bidding period may be extended up to 6:02 PM .
If another bidder submits a bid at 6:01 PM , the auction may again be extended by five minutes, potentially extending the bidding window up to 6:06 PM .
