The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has initiated the process for the e-auction of 16 properties, including six residential units and 10 commercial units. The auction is scheduled to be held on January 7 next year.
According to officials, the EMD submission window opened on Wednesday and will remain active till December 11 at 5 pm. Bidding for the e-auction will begin on December 12 at 9 am and continue till January 7 at 4 pm.
All six residential units are Category IV flats located in Indira Colony, Manimajra, with reserve prices ranging from ₹38.20 lakh to ₹41.06 lakh. Among the 10 commercial properties on offer, seven units are in Manimajra and three in Sector 40-A, carrying reserve prices between ₹42.99 lakh and ₹85.50 lakh.
Officials said that units will be allotted to the highest eligible bidder, provided the bid exceeds the fixed reserve price. Notably, GST will not be applicable on the consideration amount for residential units and built-up commercial properties. However, in the case of leasehold commercial units, GST will apply on the annual lease money or ground rent.
The CHB expects strong participation as the properties are located in high-demand pockets of the city and offer a mix of residential and commercial investment opportunities.

Chhattisgarh Housing Board Launches 370 Affordable Homes in Kharmora: Bookings Start November 22
The Chhattisgarh Housing Board (CHB) is set to introduce a major residential project in Kharmora, marking a significant step toward boosting urban housing supply in Korba. The upcoming development will feature 370 elevator-enabled flats designed for EWS, LIG, and Junior MIG families, ensuring quality homes at budget-friendly prices.
According to officials, the Board plans to construct six-storey contemporary buildings equipped with modern amenities and safety features. The project aims to support lower- and middle-income households by providing secure, comfortable, and well-planned homes within an accessible urban zone. With Korba experiencing rapid population growth, this initiative is expected to ease the city’s rising demand for affordable housing and strengthen Kharmora’s integration into the broader urban infrastructure network.
The Housing Board has confirmed that booking for these residential units will commence on November 22 during the upcoming Housing Fair in Raipur. The land for this project was procured under the Atal Bihari Yojana, and the proposal will be formally presented at the event.
Yogesh Patel, Executive Engineer of the Korba Zone, highlighted that this is CHB’s first large-scale project in many years. He added that although the Housing Board has already developed colonies at nine different locations, further expansion had been stalled due to land shortages. With the availability of land in Kharmora, the Board is now prepared to restart its development activity and address the growing demand for affordable homes.
