In a bold step to recover long-pending property tax dues, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has announced the auction of 608 properties on February 13. Despite repeated demand notices, property attachments, and sealing of non-residential properties, many owners have failed to clear their dues.

The auction, conducted under Section 156(5) of the BBMP Act, 2020, aims to recover outstanding taxes. Munish Moudgil, BBMP Special Commissioner (Revenue), stated that proceeds will first cover tax arrears, with any surplus returned to the property owners.
East Zone: 118 properties (J.C. Nagar, Maruthi Seva Nagar, HBR Layout, Shivajinagar)
West Zone: 120 properties (Chickpet, Malleswaram, Rajajinagar)
South Zone: 109 properties (BTM Layout, Jayanagar, Basavanagudi)
Mahadevapura Zone: 60 properties (K.R. Puram, Marathahalli, Whitefield)
Bommanahalli Zone: 70 properties (Begur, HSR Layout)
Yelahanka Zone: 40 properties (Yelahanka Satellite Town)
R.R. Nagar Zone: 50 properties (Kengeri, Yeshwantpur)
Dasarahalli Zone: 41 properties (Peenya, Shettihalli)
