The Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram Homeless Shed Construction Scheme is a state government initiative aimed at supporting homeless artisans by providing financial assistance for constructing non-residential sheds. This program is implemented by the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation.
Total project cost for shed construction: ₹2.25 lakh
Government subsidy provided: ₹2.20 lakh
To be eligible, applicants must:
Be leather artisans.
Belong to Scheduled Caste sub-castes such as Arundathiyar, Chammadiyar, Chammar, Madiga, Mochi, Rohidas, Dhor, Kakkaiah, and other Adi Karnataka SC categories.
Be 18 years or older.
Have an annual income not exceeding ₹32,000 in rural areas or ₹2,87,600 in urban areas.
Not have received benefits under any other similar government scheme.
Not have any family members employed in government service.
Applicants need to submit:
Caste certificate
Applicant and spouse passport-sized photographs
Aadhaar card
Ration card
Income certificate
Site account certificate
E-Shram card
Skill certificate from the technical department
Go to the Seva Sindhu portal.
New users should register using their Aadhaar number.
Create a DigiLocker account for document storage.
Navigate to Department and Services → Social Welfare Department → Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram Living-cum-Work Shed Construction Project.
Click Apply Online and register using your mobile number.
Upload all required documents and submit your application.
