Aurangabad: The district administration in Aurangabad has announced a public auction of 26 confiscated vehicles, including motorcycles, cars and commercial vehicles, under the provisions of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act.
The vehicles were seized in various excise-related cases and later confiscated following court orders. Officials said the auction will be conducted on an “as is, where is” basis by a committee constituted under the District Magistrate.

According to the official notification, the auction will be held at the Town Hall in the Collectorate premises at 11am on the following dates:
Applications must be submitted at the office of the Superintendent of Excise before the respective deadlines — March 19, March 28 and April 4 (5pm).
The list includes a mix of two-wheelers and four-wheelers such as Bajaj Pulsar, TVS motorcycles, Hero Splendor, Yamaha FZS, scooters, an e-rickshaw, a Tata container truck, and cars from Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra.
Officials said the reserve prices have already been reduced by 10%, making the auction attractive for buyers.
For instance, a Yamaha FZS motorcycle is listed at ₹11,250, while a Tata container truck is priced at around ₹3.98 lakh after reduction.
Participants will have to deposit 50% of the reduced reserve price as earnest money through a bank draft in favour of the Superintendent of Excise, payable at SBI Main Branch, Aurangabad.
Applicants must submit self-attested copies of Aadhaar and PAN cards, along with two passport-size photographs and a duly filled application form.
Officials said incomplete applications or those without valid payment proof will not be accepted.

Many vehicles are marked as scrap.
The reserve prices start as low as Rs 200 for cycles, while premium vehicles like SUVs and container trucks go up to Rs 4.73 lakh.

The Collectorate, Aurangabad, under the Prohibition & Excise Branch, has issued a corrigendum for the short-term public auction of vehicles confiscated under the Bihar Prohibition & Excise Act, 2016 and its amended version, 2018. The corrigendum revises the auction schedule previously published on 26th August 2025 in daily newspapers (PR No. 012214 (Excise) 2025-26) due to unavoidable circumstances.
The auctions will now be held as follows:
First Auction: 13th September 2025 (Applications due by 10th September 2025)
Second Auction: 20th September 2025 (Applications due by 18th September 2025)
Third Auction: 27th September 2025 (Applications due by 25th September 2025)
All auctions will commence at 11:00 AM at Nagar Bhawan, Collectorate, Aurangabad.

Vehicles will be auctioned on an “As is, Where is” basis. Interested bidders can inspect vehicles at their respective police stations before the auction.
Interested participants must submit their applications along with Aadhaar, PAN, two recent passport-size photographs, and an affidavit/declaration.
A 50% Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of the vehicle’s reserve price must be submitted via bank draft payable to the Superintendent of Excise, Aurangabad at SBI Main Branch, Aurangabad.
The EMD will be adjusted for successful bidders, while unsuccessful applicants will have their deposits refunded.
Remaining auction payments must be completed within three working days of the auction.
A 3% service fee will be charged separately to BSBCL.
Vehicles will be released from their location post-auction, and all transportation expenses must be borne by the buyer.
Successful bidders are responsible for paying applicable taxes and registering the vehicle in their name at the District Transport Office, Aurangabad.
Vehicles under court attachment will not be auctioned, and the auction committee reserves the right to cancel or postpone auctions at any stage.
