People interested in participating in the Bihar confiscated vehicle auction 2026 must submit an application in the prescribed format before the deadline.
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
The advance deposit has to be submitted through a bank draft in favour of the Superintendent of Excise, Aurangabad , payable at the designated SBI Main Branch as mentioned in the auction notice.
The auction authority said that the advance deposit of the successful bidder will be adjusted against the final auction amount .
For unsuccessful applicants, the deposited advance amount will be returned according to the prescribed procedure.
The successful buyer must deposit the remaining auction amount within three working days at the Office of the Superintendent of Excise, Aurangabad.
The auction notice provides a special procedure for vehicles that remain unsold.
If a vehicle fails to find a buyer even after three rounds of auction , it may continue to be auctioned on an “As Is Where Is Basis” . For every subsequent auction, the vehicle's assessed auction price will be reduced by 10% until the vehicle is sold, subject to the prescribed auction procedure.
The notice also states that auctions of vehicles remaining unsold may be held on a recurring schedule, including on Wednesdays , with changes to the next working day in case of a holiday.
The Excise Department has asked prospective buyers to physically inspect the vehicles before participating in the auction.
Interested bidders can visit the relevant police stations on working days before the auction date to inspect the vehicles. Buyers must independently verify the registration number, chassis number and engine number before placing a bid.
The authorities have made it clear that if registration, chassis or engine details are unclear or cannot be properly verified, registration of such a vehicle may not be possible.
All vehicles will be sold strictly on an “as is, where is, whatever there is” basis . Buyers will have to take possession of the vehicle from its existing location and bear any transportation or related expenses themselves.
Bidders cannot later raise claims regarding the vehicle's condition after participating in the auction. Buyers are therefore advised to carefully examine the mechanical condition, documents, identification numbers and registration status before bidding.
The auction committee will issue the necessary auction certificate or sale certificate to the successful purchaser for completing the vehicle registration process.
However, getting the vehicle registered in the buyer's name will remain the responsibility of the purchaser. Registration will be processed by the District Transport Office, Aurangabad , after submission of the required auction documents and payment of applicable fees.
Successful bidders will also have to pay all applicable taxes, registration charges and other statutory dues .
If any bank, financial institution or other party has an objection regarding a listed vehicle, the objection may be raised before the auction as per the prescribed process.
Vehicle owners or other concerned parties can also submit objections at the Office of the Superintendent of Excise, Aurangabad , before the auction. The department has stated that publication of the notice will be treated as final service of auction information to the vehicle owners.
The auction committee also reserves the right to cancel the auction of any individual vehicle or all vehicles , or to cancel the auction process when required. A vehicle may also be removed from the auction if it is found to be covered by a court order or pending legal matter.
The detailed auction information, including the vehicle list and other instructions, can be checked on the Aurangabad district administration website or obtained from the Office of the Superintendent of Excise, Aurangabad, Padrawa, Jamhor, Aurangabad – 824121 .
The notice was issued under Memo No. 2182/MaNi, dated August 18, 2026 .
Before submitting an application or depositing the advance amount, bidders should carefully verify the official vehicle catalogue, auction terms, vehicle condition, registration details, chassis number and engine number . Since the vehicles are being sold in their existing condition, a low reserve price should not be treated as a guarantee regarding roadworthiness or future registration eligibility.
