108 Seized Vehicles to Be Auctioned in Aurangabad Under Bihar Prohibition Act

The Excise Department, Aurangabad, has announced a major public e-auction of 108 confiscated vehicles seized under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016. The auction will be conducted in multiple phases in February 2026 following court orders. The vehicles include motorcycles, scooters, cars, tempos, containers and e-rickshaws, many of which are classified as scrap.
The auction will be held on an As Is Where Is and As Is What Is basis. Interested bidders can inspect the vehicles at the respective police stations before participating in the auction.

Many vehicles are marked as scrap.
The reserve prices start as low as Rs 200 for cycles, while premium vehicles like SUVs and container trucks go up to Rs 4.73 lakh.
• Bidders must deposit 10 percent of the minimum reserve price as EMD
• After winning the bid, the remaining amount must be deposited within three working days at the office of the Superintendent of Excise, Aurangabad
• Payments are to be made in favour of the Superintendent of Excise, Aurangabad, payable at SBI Main Branch, Aurangabad, Bihar
Inspection of Vehicles
• Interested buyers can inspect the vehicles at the concerned police stations on any working day before the auction date
• Buyers are advised to verify registration number, chassis number and engine number before bidding
• Vehicles with unclear identification may not be eligible for registration later
Important Auction Terms and Conditions
• Auction will be conducted on an As Is Where Is and As Is What Is basis
• Vehicles are sold free from encumbrances, but registration responsibility lies with the buyer
• The auction committee reserves the right to cancel any or all lots without assigning reasons
• Successful bidders must complete registration at the District Transport Office, Aurangabad at their own cost
• Vehicles under court stay will be removed from the auction list immediately
• Legal jurisdiction will lie with local courts in Aurangabad district

The Collectorate, Aurangabad, under the Prohibition & Excise Branch, has issued a corrigendum for the short-term public auction of vehicles confiscated under the Bihar Prohibition & Excise Act, 2016 and its amended version, 2018. The corrigendum revises the auction schedule previously published on 26th August 2025 in daily newspapers (PR No. 012214 (Excise) 2025-26) due to unavoidable circumstances.
The auctions will now be held as follows:
First Auction: 13th September 2025 (Applications due by 10th September 2025)
Second Auction: 20th September 2025 (Applications due by 18th September 2025)
Third Auction: 27th September 2025 (Applications due by 25th September 2025)
All auctions will commence at 11:00 AM at Nagar Bhawan, Collectorate, Aurangabad.
A total of approximately 138 vehicles will be offered, including motorcycles, scooters, cars, auto rickshaws, tractors, trucks, pickups, and other scrap vehicles. The breakdown is as follows:
Motorcycles/Scooters: 84
Cars (SUV, Hatchback, Sedan): 24
Auto/Three-wheeler: 8
Tractors: 6
Trucks/Pickups/Vans: 4
Other/Scrap Vehicles: 12
Vehicles will be auctioned on an “As is, Where is” basis. Interested bidders can inspect vehicles at their respective police stations before the auction.
Interested participants must submit their applications along with Aadhaar, PAN, two recent passport-size photographs, and an affidavit/declaration.
A 50% Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of the vehicle’s reserve price must be submitted via bank draft payable to the Superintendent of Excise, Aurangabad at SBI Main Branch, Aurangabad.
The EMD will be adjusted for successful bidders, while unsuccessful applicants will have their deposits refunded.
Remaining auction payments must be completed within three working days of the auction.
A 3% service fee will be charged separately to BSBCL.
Vehicles will be released from their location post-auction, and all transportation expenses must be borne by the buyer.
Successful bidders are responsible for paying applicable taxes and registering the vehicle in their name at the District Transport Office, Aurangabad.
Vehicles under court attachment will not be auctioned, and the auction committee reserves the right to cancel or postpone auctions at any stage.
