District Magistrate Anshul Singh has instructed the Joint Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, municipal authorities and local bodies to ensure that information regarding the auction reaches a wider audience.
Authorities have been directed to conduct awareness drives and establish information camps to help prospective bidders understand the registration process, bidding procedures and eligibility requirements.
The administration has also been asked to coordinate with officials from the Custodian of Enemy Property Office, Lucknow , which has appointed Prashant Saini as the authorised supervisor for publicity and coordination activities in Almora district.
As part of the outreach programme, officials have been instructed to identify and engage with real estate developers, property investors, builders and real estate consultants who may be interested in participating in the auction.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has also recommended publicity through newspapers, digital media platforms, local cable networks, social media channels and property portals to attract a larger pool of bidders.
Information campaigns will highlight key details such as:
Enemy properties are assets left behind in India by individuals who migrated to countries designated as enemy nations after historical conflicts. These assets are vested with the Custodian of Enemy Property for India , which functions under the Ministry of Home Affairs .
The central government periodically disposes of such properties through transparent auction mechanisms to unlock their economic value and generate revenue.
Interested buyers can participate in the online auction after completing registration and complying with the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) requirements prescribed by MSTC.
With Almora witnessing growing infrastructure development and increasing investor interest in Uttarakhand's hill regions, officials expect significant participation from developers and land investors. The extensive awareness campaign launched by the district administration is aimed at ensuring competitive bidding and wider public participation in the auction process.
The upcoming e-auction is part of the Centre's broader effort to monetise enemy properties across India through a transparent and technology-driven platform.
