The Government Railway Police (GRP) at Bareilly Junction will conduct a public auction of 13 vehicles that have been lying at the police station premises for several years. These vehicles, which were once involved in various criminal and legal cases, are now being cleared through an official auction process.
The auction will take place on August 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM onwards, under the chairmanship of the Additional City Magistrate. Senior officials, including the Circle Officer (CO) GRP, Inspector GRP, and representatives from the Transport Department, will also be present to oversee the process.
To ensure transparency, only registered scrap license holders have been invited to participate. Around 15–20 license holders from Bareilly city are expected to attend and place their bids.
Authorities stated that the vehicles have been occupying space at the police station for a long time, and the auction will help in clearing encroachment while also generating revenue for the government.
This move is seen as part of regular administrative measures to dispose of abandoned or case-related vehicles that are no longer required for investigation.
