TGHB Nets ₹91.34 Crore from Landmark Land Auction and Flat Sales

Jul 30 2025

The Telangana Housing Board (TGHB) has achieved a significant revenue milestone, generating over ₹91 crore through a combination of land auctions and flat sales conducted on Wednesday.

At the heart of this success was a one-acre commercial land parcel located at Flat No. 1, Phase 4, Kukatpally Housing Board Colony (KPHB). The property fetched an impressive ₹65.34 crore during a competitive online e-auction. The land was eventually acquired by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). According to TGHB Vice Chairman V.P. Gautam, the auction drew 11 bids, with four contenders actively engaged till the final moments.

In addition to the land deal, TGHB earned another ₹26 crore through the sale of Rajiv Swagruha flats in Bandlaguda and Nagole. Out of 159 available units, 131 flats were successfully allocated via a lottery-based system, designed to provide affordable housing options for middle-income families.

This twin success marks a major step forward in TGHB’s efforts to monetize government assets efficiently while simultaneously addressing urban housing needs.
