A public auction of 153 unclaimed vehicles from various police stations under the Viramgam Division was successfully conducted at the Makarba Police Headquarters in Ahmedabad. The auction was held under the supervision of DySP Tapan Dodia and in the presence of police inspectors from concerned stations.
Total Vehicles Auctioned: 153
148 Two-Wheelers
5 Three-Wheelers
Participating Traders: 48
Base Price: ₹2,75,000
Final Auction Value: ₹8,80,000
A total of 48 traders from across Gujarat registered and took part in the bidding. After 20 competitive rounds, Yusufbhai, a trader from Junagadh, placed the highest and final bid of ₹8.80 lakh, securing the lot. The auctioned vehicles will now be handed over to him for scrapping.
The auction was initiated to clear the backlog of unclaimed vehicles that had been accumulating at five police stations — Viramgam Town, Viramgam Rural, Vithalapur, Mandal, and Detroj. These vehicles had remained unattended and unclaimed for a prolonged period.
Before auctioning, the following procedures were undertaken:
Public notices were issued to locate the owners.
Newspaper announcements were made as per legal protocol.
As no valid claims were received from original owners, the vehicles were declared unclaimed and marked for scrap disposal.
